A secure element is a tamper-resistant chip that stores keys and signs transactions inside sealed hardware, so a stolen device cannot simply read them out. Anchorage Digital relies on tamper-proof hardware security modules Tamper-proof HSM hardware, and Arculus embeds a secure element in the Arculus card secure element embedded in the Arculus card. BitBox pairs a dual-chip design with a certified secure chip Dual-chip design with EAL6+ certified secure chip, and BitBox02 builds on an ATECC608B chip. Blockchain.com Wallet applies the same hardware to custodied funds.
