What is AMF?

In short

The French markets regulator, and the name that appears most often across the European entries for these providers.

The AMF is France's financial markets regulator, and its register is one of the places to check whether a crypto firm is authorised to serve customers in France. Register entries are often the quickest evidence of a provider's standing in a given country. Binance and Binance Australia both list Autorite des marches financiers (AMF), Commissione Nazionale per le Societa e la Borsa (CONSOB) and Banco de Espana, which names the Autorite des marches financiers alongside the Commissione Nazionale per le Societa e la Borsa (CONSOB), the Banco de Espana, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Thailand Ministry of Finance. Bull Bitcoin lists Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) naming the Autorite des Marches Financiers (AMF), and bitstack lists Autorité des Marchés Financiers and Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) with the same authority. bitnovo lists Banco de Espana, AMF France (PSAN) and De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) / AFM Netherlands register, pairing the Banco de Espana with AMF France (PSAN) and the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and AFM Netherlands register. Note the spelling varies between the French and English forms of the name in different entries.
