What is Custody?
In short
Whether the provider holds your crypto for you, or you hold the keys yourself.
Custody describes who keeps hold of the assets in an account. In a custodial setup the provider holds them and your account is a claim on the provider. In a non-custodial setup you hold the keys and the provider only supplies the interface. The difference decides who can move your crypto and what happens if the provider fails. Aave is the one non-custodial name in this group, while Abra Earn, Alchemy Pay, altify and Anchorage Digital all describe themselves as custodial. Read which model a provider uses before you deposit, since it cannot be reversed later.
