A backup is the spare copy that lets you regain access if the device holding your keys is lost, stolen or damaged. Arculus, Atomic Wallet and BitBox rely on a seed seed, which you write down and keep offline. Anchorage Digital and Argent take a different route with a recovery service recovery service. Either way, keep the backup away from the device and out of reach of others.
